Estimation of foliar nitrogen using remotely sensed data: A quantitative review

چکیده

Several ecosystems have been significantly altered by anthropogenic nitrogen inputs. The timely estimation of concentration is essential for ensuring environmental sustainability. Academic publications between 1966 and 2016 were reviewed to assess the potential remotely sensed information estimate concentrations various applications. A discriminatory keyword search a set inclusion criteria was used develop representative sample (n = 100). Results revealed that global distribution academic skewed towards Northern Hemisphere with largest research gap occurring within Africa. Moreover, prior 2006, into remote had minor presence in literature, agricultural sector being most extensively researched (56%). Freely available, high spatial temporal resolution imagery has afforded African continent, particularly subject area policy management, capacity grow.
